Daisy Tangerines were introduced to India by Pepsico to farmers in Punjab for the juicing factory. It was supposed to be the main ingredient in their orange juice. A few progressive farmers adopted the variety early on grew it further seeing it's potential not only in the export market but also local Indian markets..
The fruit has a thin skin and very few seeds as compared to other Mandarin varieties and has a lot of juice content. Due to low acidity content and less oil in seeds - it is a preferred juicing fruit. The juices stays fresh longer than other Indian citrus varieties.
Sent to us by our partner farmer in Lambi. The harvest is staggered hence the fruit is not available regularly. The fruit has very good shelf life - staying good for nearly 7-10 days under refrigeration.
